3rd street Beat Studios (3sb) is the first all hip-hop dance studio in Edmonton, designed to educate and train students in the many diverse dance styles authentic to the street dance culture. At 3SB students are immersed into this culture from the moment they step into the classroom. The purpose of 3SB is to help students develop their own style and rhythm through the physical expression of choreography, freestyle, and fundamental training techniques. This method of training is executed both within the class setting and performances, enabling them to overcome their fears of performance pressure.

As well as classes, 3SB offers many performance opportunities.

In the competitive program each student is given a chance to perform their class choreography, not only at competitions, but at special events, street festivals and corporate functions . This type of exposure is unique to 3SB and is, in many ways, what distinguishes them apart from other studios within the competitive dance world; focusing on performance as well as training and education.
With each passing year 3SB soars to new heights, expanding their faculty, increasing their performance opportunities and maintaining their focus on a unique dance experience.

aboutus_faculty3SB now has over 14 of the most experienced instructors and 40 competitive and recreational classes offered over 4 days and is hoping to reach over 400 students. Saskatoon instructor Amanda Murray and Vancouver choreographer Scott Forsyth have joined the 3SB faculty with all new classes making 3SB a national street dance studio bring together teachers from 3 separate provinces! We are very fortunate to be able to fly in choreographers on a weekly basis to teach programs that you cannot get anywhere else in Alberta. Normally you could only get choreographers like this when they come in for a workshop once a year!

Striving to provide the highest level of dance education and performance opportunities while expressing the importance of giving back to the community and local youth organizations such as Youth Emergency Shelter Society and the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.

To have a 3sb event in every major province across Canada and to cultivate a stronger street dance community through self-expression and all together showing the great impact it has on the youth of today.

The company extends from a competitive dance studio to a professional entertainment company  producing an annual benefit concert, a National dance competition, Public School Workshops/Stageshows and professional International Tours. By promoting “Youth Giving Back to Youth” at their events, 3rd Street Beat has brought light to the positive change that can be made by uniting youth talent in the spirit of giving back and helping those less fortunate. The company is quickly expanding across Canada and reaching international markets with new and exciting events and touring productions.
